After-Work Boat Hire New York: Summer Friday Sailing & Happy Hour
Perfect End-of-Week Celebration
starting at $600 for couples, $700 for 3-6 passengers | 2-4 hours | flexible itineraries
catering menu | luxury amenities
There’s no better way to kick off the weekend than leaving the office behind and stepping aboard a private sailboat in New York Harbor. Our Summer Friday sailing charters offer small teams and friend groups an exclusive escape from the city—just you, your crew, and the Manhattan skyline as the sun begins its descent.
Summer Fridays were made for moments like this. While everyone else sits in traffic or crowds into packed rooftop bars, you’ll be gliding past the Statue of Liberty with a drink in hand, feeling the breeze off the Hudson. Our after-work charters run from 2 to 4 hours, with most groups opting for the sweet spot: a 2-hour sail departing between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
You’ll board at Chelsea Piers on Manhattan’s west side—easy to reach from Midtown, FiDi, or Hudson Yards. No need to trek to Brooklyn or navigate complicated marina logistics. Just show up, and we’ll handle the rest.
What’s Included
Every charter includes your USCG-licensed captain with experience navigating New York Harbor. Our sailboat is equipped with everything you need for a proper happy hour on the water:

- Sun pad at the bow for those who want to stretch out
- Bathroom (head) and kitchenette (galley) for convenience
- Bluetooth sound system for your own playlist
- Bottled water & ice
Pricing and Booking
For gatherings of up to six people, Summer Friday sailing charters start at $700 for 2 hours, with 3- and 4-hour options available. Your captain, fuel, and vessel are included in the base rate.

- Full catering menus: brunch, lunch, party trays, cakes, and full beverage menu
- Decoration packages for special occasions
Routes and Highlights
The beauty of an after-work sail is flexibility. We’ll customize your route based on what your group wants to see and how much time you have. Popular options include:
Classic Harbor Loop (2 hours)
Cruise south past the Freedom Tower and Battery Park, sail close to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for photos, then loop through the heart of the NY Harbor before heading back north along the Hudson with views of the West Village, Chelsea, and Midtown. Perfect for first-timers who want to see the major landmarks.
Sunset Skyline (2-3 hours)
Time your departure to catch golden hour. We’ll position the boat for unobstructed views as the sun sets behind the Statue, casting that perfect warm light across Lower Manhattan. You’ll watch the city transition from day to night, with lights beginning to twinkle across the skyline.
Brooklyn Bridge & DUMBO (3-4 hours)
Sail under the Brooklyn Bridge and cruise past the Brooklyn Heights waterfront. Spectacular views of the bridge’s Neo-Gothic arches from the water level, plus incredible angles of Lower Manhattan’s skyline.
Your captain will adjust the route in real-time based on wind conditions and what your group gravitates toward. Want to linger near a particular landmark? We’ll hold position. Prefer to keep moving? We’ll cover more ground.
Ideal for Small Teams and Friends
Our six-passenger capacity makes this the perfect size for intimate celebrations—not too big, not too small. Most after-work charters are:
- Close-knit work teams celebrating a project launch, hitting quarterly goals, or just bonding outside the office
- Friend groups marking the unofficial start of summer or making the most of long daylight hours
- Couples doubling (or tripling) up for a shared experience that beats any restaurant reservation
The intimate setting means actual conversation, not shouting over crowds. Everyone gets a great seat with unobstructed views. There’s space to move around, but you’re close enough to share the experience.

Weather and Flexibility
Summer in New York means occasional afternoon thunderstorms and unpredictable conditions. Your captain makes the final safety call approximately 2 hours before departure. If weather looks unsafe, we’ll work with you to reschedule at no additional charge.
What to Bring
This is your boat for the evening, so pack accordingly:
- Food & Beverages: The all-inclusive champagne and appetizer package is the favorite upgrade, but if you want to bring your own, the BYO fee is $100.
- Sun protection: Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen (even on cloudy days)
- Light layers: It can be 10 degrees cooler on the water, especially once the sun sets
- Phone/camera: Fully charged for skyline photos
Barefoot is best for sailing. Leave the stilettos at the office.
